ACCESSORIES
How long does it take to get shoes
if I need to special order them?
It usually takes about two weeks to order in shoes, so
it is good to plan ahead if you need them for your first
fitting appointment.
How do I measure the heel height
of my shoes?
Determining the correct heel height for shoes is often
necessary if your gown was ordered in a custom length.
Every shoe manufacturer has a different method for measuring
their shoe heel height. For example, one company may measure
from the inside of the heel while the other company from
the outside and if you ordered shoes with 3in heels from
both of them, the shoes would look entirely different.
For our measuring purposes, we want the shoes to reflect
the actual height lift you will receive when wearing them
(ie how much taller are you going to be). So when we refer
to heel height, we are referring to the measurement from
the bottom of the outside of the heel to the top of the
shoe, where your heel rests. If you need more information,
feel free to contact one of our bridal consultants.
What is the best way to shop for
accessories?
We offer an accessorizing appointment for both brides
who purchased their wedding gown at our salon, and for
those brides who did not. It is idea to be able to put
on your gown, or a sample of it, and put the entire picture
together at the same time. It is really hard to figure
out the appropriate length of your veil, or the right
color tone of your tiara without your dress. Also, by
putting all accessories on together including your veil,
hair jewelry, earrings, shoes, etc. we can make sure that
everything coordinates perfectly. Click here to book your
accessorizing appointment.
I want to wear flip-flops. Is that
OK?
Of course, it is OK to wear flip-flops. It is important
to be comfortable so you can enjoy every moment of your
special day! However, there are a few things to consider.
Will you be walking down a church isle? If so, you may
not want to hear the “flip-flop” sound as
you are walking. (This is especially important if your
feet tend to sweat). Another problem our brides run into
is that it is sometimes difficult to dance in flip-flops.
Ultimately, you need to decide on what shoes you will
feel most comfortable in regardless of style. If you love
tennis shoes, wear tennis shoes. Sometimes, the formality
or location of the event will change throughout the day.
For example, you may get married outside on a deck overlooking
the mountains, and then move inside for dinner and dancing
the night away. Often, changing your shoes as you change
your venues might be the best option. Wear silk sandals
with a chunky heel for the deck, and switch into your
favorite dancing shoes for later in the evening. If you
cannot figure out what might be best for your situation,
discuss it with your bridal consultant and she will give
you some fabulous ideas.
I am not sure I want to wear a veil. Do most brides wear
one?
Yes, most brides still wear a veil, but this my no means
dictates what you might want to do. We encourage you to
try on some veils with your dress to make sure that the
look is not what you are looking for. Often brides wear
a veil just down the isle, and for a few pictures, but
then not for the rest of the evening. Others prefer a
long formal veil for the ceremony and a shorter version
for the reception. While, some brides don't wear a veil
at all. The choice is entire yours!
