TUXEDOS
When should we choose the tuxedos?
This is influenced by the time of year. We like to have
time for the groom to choose a couple of styles for try-on
in his size. This makes it easier for him to see what
looks best. Unfortunately, try-ons can not occur during
prom season which is mid March til June 1. Therefore,
if you have an early summer wedding, the groom should
choose styles to try on in January or February. Plan on
at least 6 weeks before the wedding for all of the attendants
to be measured and paper work involved with ordering.
Some weekends in the summer are very popular dates, such
as July 4 th weekend and Labor Day weekend. In order to
assure that the styles and sizes you need are available
please book these weekends far in advance. It is never
too early to book your tuxedos.
Do all of the men wear exactly
the same tuxedo?
It is not required that they all dress exactly the same.
In fact, in most cases, they do not. Often times the groom
will be in a different style or a different vest and tie.
Many times the fathers and grandfathers will wear something
more traditional than the groom and his attendants. The
only real guideline to remember is this: keep the formality
the same as that of the ladies in the party.
Do the men have to wear tuxedos?
This depends on the formality of the bride's gown. Her
gown sets the tone for the whole wedding. Many brides
are wearing informal gowns today, especially for destination
or out of doors weddings. Some parties wear suits or just
slacks with button up shirts and ties. We have referred
several parties to The Thistle and Shamrock for kilts.
The key is to keep some level of conformity. All of the
groomsmen should be the same, as well as all of the ushers.
If the groom is wearing a tuxedo his attendants should
also. We have several options other than the traditional
tuxedo for rental. |
